Nov 11 QSA to speak in London Citizens pageant celebrating east end social activism

This year, on 15 December, London Citizens are organising a celebratory pageant, Our Stories, Our Streets, Our London, through the streets of east London, celebrating social activism and civil society. They hope to have a turnout of over one thousand adults & school children, acknowledging the power of positive action in bringing hope and change to people's lives.

At the halfway point in the pageant, all the delegates will adjourn to York Hall to hear 10 stories of inspirational social action; faith communities, charities, unions and hospices. The story of Quaker Social Action will be one of them.

Do any Friends have inspirational or humbling stories of the work QSA (a.k.a the Bedford Institute Association) did in the past, that we might not know about and that they are willing to share?

Also, would any Friends like to join us on the day and learn more about the diverse and rich contributions made by a whole range of groups to building communities, especially in east London? We'd be delighted if our supporters wished to come along. Anyone unable to complete the walk can join us just for the York Hall part, which is, happily, next door to QSA's office. Mince pies and hot teas served!

This is a completely free event, but registration is essential. For further details, please contact me.
