Mar 11 QSA join London Citizens
London Citizens, the capital's branch of Citizens UK community organisers, has
welcomed QSA as a member.
An alliance of trade unions, educational institutions, faith and community groups, London Citizens campaigns for social justice on key issues such as living wages, housing and safety. QSA will now have a voice in those campaigns, as well as benefiting from training to support us in effecting change within our community.
Ruhana Ali, London Citizens' community organiser for Tower Hamlets, says:
"We are delighted that Quaker Social Action has joined our alliance and will be working with our 28 institutions in Tower Hamlets and part of the 200 strong institutions we have in London Citizens. The excellent projects run by your charity and the passion to engage local people...at the grass roots level chimes at the core of our values to work with each other for the common good. This important work continues through the strong, public relationships we build through taking action on the issues ours communities care about; affordable housing, fairer wages, safer streets and we are excited about working with you to achieve this. We encourage all of your members to get involved and build the capacity of ordinary citizens to act and work for social justice."
