 Fundraising and Communications Officer

26,552.  Full time.

We are seeking an exceptional fundraising and communications expert to join our small but effective team. Your duties will include:

QSA has worked to tackle poverty and social exclusion in East London since 1867. Our hard-working, project staff are expert in listening to the needs of people living on a low income and working with them on innovative, optimistic solutions to the problems that poverty brings.

Although our commitment is to serve the local community of east London, QSA is making a national noise. Our projects have been recognised through a CAF Charity Award, a New Philanthropy Capital recommendation, a Guardian award, and, last week, a NIACE Adult Learner project award.  Our director and senior managers are called upon to share knowledge with policy groups and parliamentary sub-committees. Increasingly we are sharing our experience of what works through national partnerships and capacity building.

This is an exciting time to join us. We have new projects in the pipeline, a website redesign underway and the nation's first dedicated funeral poverty campaigner.

As you will be joining a small team, this post provides an excellent opportunity to work across the breadth and scope of fundraising and communications - who wants to be stuck in legacies all their life?. No two days will be the same as you work with trusts, corporates, major donors and individual givers, and represent QSA to diverse audiences in print, online and through social media.

We are looking for  someone with a real talent for bringing our outcomes to life  and for building the interpersonal relationships with our funders that ensure our financial future. We wish to invest in the development of an  ambitious and committed person who wants to grow and stretch themselves within a supportive organisation.

Closing date 10am on Friday 11th July.
